Camping and Caravan Site - Perfect Touring Base

Peaceful campsite with  spectacular views of West Highland coast

Suits Tents, Caravans and Motorhomes, with many pitches in an elevated position overlooking the coastal horizon from the edge of the bay so everyone has a view of the sea.  A short walk along the shore footpath leads to a small sandy beach.  The campsite has all the usual facilities and there is a cafe/bar called the Anchorage at the entrance immediately as you come in.

This coastal camping and caravaning site is in the centre of Scourie village itself which has a mini supermarket, Hotel and Restaurant and the Shorehouse Seafood Restaurant is nearby.

Handa Island

Tarbet for Ferry and Seafood Restaurant

Handa Island features internationally famous sea bird colonies including puffins (above), guillemots, fulmar and the sometimes skuas.

Handa island is a short ferry ride from Tarbet nearby (3 miles) and boasts magnificent sea cliffs teaming with wildlife.  There is a lovely seafood restaurant called the Shorehouse Seafood Restaurant down by the ferry pier. Call 01971 502251 to book a table ..

North Coast 500

The Highlands own route 66 - the North Coast 500 marketing often uses a stunning photo of  several sports cars crossing the Kylesku Bridge just a few miles south of us.  Scourie is right in the middle of some of the most stunning coastline on this memorable route.  We are also an ideal stopping off point!

Touring base for the whole of the North Highlands including East and North coasts.

Only 60 miles from Dornoch on the East Coast, 25 miles to Durness on the North Coast and 40 miles southwards takes you to Ullapool.  This last section, the trip on the winding road to Ullapool takes you past the most spectacular craggy coastline with inland waterways, secluded beaches and impressive mountains to your left.  In fact the Geology is so impressive and diverse here that the origins of global plate movements were discovered - a must visit is the Geo centre to the south of Scourie on the Ullapool road.
